Dear Colleagues,

You are cordially invited to participate in the Fourth Annual Symposium on Biopharmaceuticals a.k.a. San Diego Bio-Pharma Conference 2005, which will be held at Price Center, UCSD on June 4, 2005.  This annual event will be organized under the auspices of the San Diego Chinese Association, in collaboration with the Sino-American Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Professionals Association, the American Chemical Society, San Diego Section, and UCSD Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property Services.

Building on the success of past symposiums, this year’s symposium strives to create stronger connections between academia and industry, and between technology sectors and the business community in the biopharmaceutical arena.  Through a format of information exchange and networking, the goal is to promote technology innovation, business collaboration, and advancements of San Diego’s biopharmaceutical research and development.

The symposium is also unique in its concept and content as it aims to bring together scientists working on the bench and management teams battling on the business front.  It will cover a wide variety of disciplines and topics ranging from stem cell research to diabetes treatment, from target validation to lead optimization, from process development to clinical trial studies, from licensing to offshore outsourcing.  We hope that each of you will enjoy this rich intellectual feast, meet with and learn from top-notched professionals in your fields, and develop relationships with colleagues who share the same aspiration to be part of a vibrant community.
